The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car sounds wonderful from the factory. Free of road-car muffling and other sound deterrents, the car is free to scream. But as NBC Sports' Proving Grounds TV show host Leh Keen proves, it can always get better.
In the quest to squeeze every last bit of performance out of the car, Keen has been working with the team at Dundon Motorsports to unlock any potential their new GT3 Cup MR might be hiding. According to Keen's Instagram post, they've swapped in long-tube headers and a bigger throttle body, and managed to get some real gains on the dyno. The side-effect? An even better soundtrack. It doesn't sound much different from stock through most of the rev range. It's only when the car gets near redline that those new parts begin to make a real difference. I've watched these videos three or four times now, and it hasn't gotten any less interesting.
